About
the band
*NEW* band biography
It could easily be said the one thing this Orlando band has in common with its namesake is its drive. I-4 Band has rapidly found their niche in today's music realm, capturing and enticing their audience with musical expressions so familiar, yet so new. It took no time at all for industry professionals and fans across the country to realize they had a band before them worthy of stardom. Winning a nationwide "Battle of the Bands" contest held by Orlando's number one top 40 radio station, WXXL, XL106.7, and Wright Entertainment enabled I-4 to saturate the eyes and ears of not only an awaiting public, but a panel of industry professionals and superstars as well. Finding the win to be their needed stepping-stone, I-4 has since been selling out local venues and sharing the stage with national acts such as Avril Lavigne and O-Town, Willa Ford, Stacy Orrico and many more! Their excitement and stamina on stage combined with their driving edge and heartfelt harmonies have led to requests for performances not only in their immediate area but across the country as well.
Having spent most of their lives together in Melbourne, Florida, Nathan Pedersen was first on Scott Brazdo's mind when it came to forming I-4. "Nathan is an awesome drummer, and he and I have this unspoken musical chemistry," says Brazdo. Brent Turner, I-4 back up vocalist, joined after Brazdo heard him perform at a local coffee shop while attending Florida's Stetson University. When auditioning for additional members I-4 knew the musicians needed to complete their sound had to be as unique and talented as those already in place. They found these qualities in violinist Jared Burnett, and bassist Andy Severence whom all brought forth diverse musical influences combined with years of perfected skill. The collective energy and exuberant personalities of I-4 are infectious to watch. It is this stage presence and audience reaction which both fuels the band and their audience leaving them both craving more.
The five members of I-4 each bring an array of musical talent to the band, which generates into an eclectic edge found in no other band today. I-4's vibrant, evocative acoustic rock sound intertwines with lyrics filled with emotional honesty and maturity to showcase a sound both unique and refreshing. It's this very sound they've transferred onto their debut album, "I-4 hate the road, love the band". The album showcases the songs of insightful singer/songwriter Scott Brazdo. Brazdo brings forth old-fashioned romantic ideals as well as truthful yearnings of the soul fused with an acoustic rock sound to create the words you've been meaning to say with the music you've been longing to hear. "TBA", "Isolate", "Run Away With Me," "Serendipity" and "Lindsey" showcase the I-4 sound, one influenced by the likes of John Mayer, The Calling, and Dave Mathews Band.
Just when you think you've got the I-4 sound pinned you're led into the heart-tugging ballad, "Let Her Go." In this, Brazdo is able to bring forth his desire to create a new infused sound blending two of today's hottest musical formats. "I tried to use my vocal influence of Brian McKnight to create a new unique acoustic rock sound with vocals that are more reminiscent of an R&B artist," Brazdo explains. Having the combination of acoustic guitar and electric violin, Brazdo has the perfect array of instrumentation to bring something new to the music scene, and they have.
With a maturity beyond their years, an immense passion for their music, and the talent to back up their dreams I-4 Band is bringing forth a sound that the music industry has not only been in dire need of, but searching out frantically. They are headed full speed down the road, or perhaps "Interstate" to national stardom.
